This Maintenance Update covers changes to Halo Enterprise
Manager required for Halo compliancy to the Visa
Payment Application Best Practices (PABP) standards. For more information on
Halo and PABP, please visit the following link:

90-Day Password Updates
- All Halo Enterprise Manager users will now be
prompted to change their passwords every 90 days. A user's new
Password cannot be the same as any of their previous 4 passwords.
New Password Criteria
- All new Halo Enterprise Manager passwords must now be at
least 7 characters long and contain both letters and numbers. If your current
password does not presently meet this criteria, you will still be able to log
on to Enterprise Manager for now, but within 90 days
of this Maintenance Update, every existing user will be prompted upon login to change
their current password to adhere to the new standards.
EM Login Expiry
- Any user who does not log on to Halo Enterprise
Manager for 90 days will now have their login disabled. An expired user will
be unable to log on to Enterprise Manager until someone with appropriate
permissions resets their password.
Resetting Passwords
- On the 'Personal Info' screen of the Add/change
employees editor, a new 'Reset Password' button allows users with
appropriate permissions to reset the Halo Enterprise Manager password for any
user from a lower ranking Job Code. This will cancel that user's current
password and assign a new Temporary Password, displayed to the right of the
'Reset Password' button. The first time a user logs on to Enterprise Manager
after having their password reset, they will be prompted to change their
Temporary Password before they can continue.
30 Minute Lockdown
- If a user attempting to log on to Halo Enterprise
Manager enters the wrong password six times in a row, that user will now be
locked out from Halo Enterprise Manager for 30
minutes. A user lockout can be removed at any time by resetting the user's
password.
Adding Users
- After adding a new user to Halo Enterprise Manager,
Halo now assigns a Temporary Password to that user. You can view this password
from the 'Personal Info' screen of the Add/change employees editor. The
first time a new user logs on to Halo Enterprise Manager, they will now be
prompted to change this password before they can continue.
Changing your Password
- On the Change personal settings editor, a new
'Change Password' link has been added to the Screen Options bar. Use this link
to change your password at any time. This link replaces the old fields for
changing passwords that were previously located on the Change personal
settings screen itself, and instead opens a more secure interface.
